Mike Whittaker

Mike is a highly respected soccer coach native to San Diego, with over 20 years of coaching experience in Southern California. His passion for the profession, coupled with his dedication to player development, has earned him recognition as one of the top coaches in the region.

Mike has guided numerous teams and players to success at various levels. His coaching success includes victory as the USYS League National Champions in 2019 as well as consistently developing talent at the USYNT level.

Emma Greenwood

Emma brings energy and ambition to the CYA staff. Raised in Sheffield, England she has an unmatched passion for everything soccer. Emma prides herself in building relationships with her players and is committed to player development both as people and as players.

Prior to coaching in the ECNL, Emma served as an Assistant Technical Director at the state level, where she oversaw Youth Academies and developed curriculum and programing for the state wide Youth Development Program.

In 2017, Emma was being named Region III Coach of the Year, an award that spanned across 13 states. This recognition highlighted her leadership and unwavering commitment to player development.

Cris Lewis

Cris Lewis brings a wealth of experience and a winning mentality to the CYA staff. Hailing from Portland, Oregon, Cris is a proud alumna of Portland State University, where she left an mark on the soccer program. During her collegiate career, Cris emerged as a defensive powerhouse, earning accolades such as the Big Sky Defensive MVP in 2009.

Cris' coaching journey has spanned youth, high school, and collegiate programs, where she has consistently nurtured talent and instilled a winning mentality in her players.

With nearly 15 years of coaching experience under her belt, Cris brings a unique blend of expertise, passion, and dedication to the CYA staff. Her commitment to player development and her proven track record of success make her an invaluable asset to the team. As a mentor, leader, and role model, Cris continues to inspire the next generation of soccer players to reach for their goals and strive for excellence both on and off the field.
